3.5 Weeks into my experiment and finally created a blog.

Okay well after multiple deposits and you guessed it right LOSING... I was beginning to wonder why I would play Live sessions and win but online I would lose. (Reason is because I did not play under the proper limits for my bankroll. I have currently played under Chris Ferguson's rule of having no more than 5% of your bankroll on the table at one time) So I wanted to try something new (NEVER DEPOSIT ONLINE AGAIN). So instead of the multiple small deposits I decided to deposit $1,000 into my Full Tilt account and play within the 5% bankroll limit to see how I make out. I also go to Foxwoods every other Wednesday to play live which i will also include in my blog.I currently have a full time job so I am going to be playing around my schedule. I will be updating this thread daily to post my progress and would be more than happy to have people comment.

To get you up to speed, here is a quick recap of what took place in the 3.5 weeks.

After 10 days into my journey i was tearing through the 50NL level and my bankroll was up to $1400.00 and then unfortunately the 12th day gave me a reality check and questioned how i deal with TILT. (The answer: Horribly) I was in for a day of complete CHAOS. My tilt level had reached an unknown high. After doing so well for the first 10 days and building my bankroll from 1,000 to 1,400 i lost my whole profit and am back to square one. It seemed that every hand i played the villian would know that by fifth street their 1-2 outer was going to come so they would call pot sized or even more chasing their cards. It felt like on the screen it said call him down your cards will come. I've had days like this and I knew i should stop playing for the day but I was on tilt (I'm sure you all have experienced it before) and kept playing hoping things would turn around. Well they didn't and now i'm sitting with my original buy in and have to get through this and begin my quest of rebuilding what i lost in 1 day that took me 10 days to build. I'm so angry at myselft for playing knowing i was running horrible.

Day 13: went well as i made $ 118.80 so i then had a bankroll of $1,107.41

Day 14: After playing on a $50NL table i was not feeling it today. I couldn't hit any flops and had the feeling that i was getting blinded out lol. I ended up losing my 50 dollar buyin and gave it a rest for a couple hours. Went back seeing if my feeling would change so i put 40 more on a table. Played for a while and got mixed up in some nice pots with AA-KK and 1010 flopping a set on 2 of the 3 only to get sucked out by the river by idiots. (Bankroll $1017.41)

Day 15: Very good progress to report. I started the day with $1017.41 and after losing a little here and there I was involved in a huge hand to end my day(I finally was the one on the lucky end of things) I was under the gun and this was going to be my final hand of the day before i had to pay the blinds. I am dealt QK offsuit so i raise it up to $2, two to my left call and small blind calls. So pot is $8. Flop comes 4c, Qc, Qd. small blind leads out with $8 bet so i just smooth call, guy behind me calls and next guy folds. Pot is now $32 now. Turn is a 5d. Small blind bets $15 i raise and make it $40 to go, guy behind me folds. small blind 3 bets me and makes it $120 to go ( Now i'm thinking he has made his boat and i am crushed) but instead of making the right move and folding i push all in for $159 and he quickly calls turning over 4h,4d (He flopped the full house) I am sitting on 15% to win the hand with only 3 kings in the deck...and the river is????????A KING to make my Queens full!!!! Talk about lucky. so now i ended the day up $251.95. So my bankroll is now sitting at a comfty $1,269.36.

Day 16: Was not a good day live or online.... lost $ -112.39 online and $300.00 live so online bankroll is at $1,156.97. I started playing live pretty well until i flopped a queen high flush (betting hard the whole way) only to get called down when the river was a 4th spade on board. Villian flopped a 10 high flush but with a one outer to help the 9 of spades comes on the river to make his straight flush. I had so much invested into the pot that he ended up pushing for less than 1/3rd of the pot and i was forced to call. That summed up my day at the casino.

Day 17: (Valentines Day) I didn't play much but when i did i was on top of my game and felt like i was hitting every flop. I made $104.52 in about 2 hours of playing on the .25-.50 tables. My bankroll is now at $1,261.49 with a profit of $261.49.

Day 18: I started off well again but ran into some tough hands with AQs vs set of 8's with q top card on the board. Also J10 vs kj with j top card on the board only for a 10 to hit the river. After losing those two big hands i decided to call it a day as i was still $14.00 up on the day. Bankroll now at $1,275.49

Day 19: Well after reading so many threads and watching videos on Pokertracker and Pokerace HUD I finally purchased them both. They are really amazing programs and well worth the money.

Day 23 and 24: I took a beating and have lost my profit once again, and am now sitting at $970.00 ($30.00 under). Literally every pocket pair of JJ-KK went up against AA when recieved them. I am not as angry as the first time i lost my profit as that time it was my fault. (This my friends is called VARIANCE) and why so many poker players cannot be successful. I just look at it as its GONE and have to start from square one again, otherwise i will lose my whole roll trying to chase money that is no longer my own.

Day 25: I played horrible the first half of the day having my bankroll drop down to $750.00 (I couldn't seem to get out of this downswing) but then turned it around and brought myself back up to $901.00

Febuary 25th Day 26: I had many errands to run today and only got in say 45 minutes of poker and lost $7.00 so am now sitting at $894.00

I need to get out of this funk and fast!! I felt it changing as off yesterday's quick upswing and hopefully it will carry over into tonight play.

Sorry to have such a long first post and promise that they will not be this long in the future.

Thank you for reading. Good Luck

Hi bloggersnavn

Just read your article where you experiment with bankroll management. I hope you hove not stopped your project - though you made a rule never to make a deposit again:)

I have a similar project going on at pokerbankrollblog.com where one of my main interests is bankroll management. The main problem I have is traffic generation and feedback on my posts. I have tried Blogcatalog, bloggerforum and others. This gives traffic, but I miss an interaction between other bloggers.

I have setup a forum (vbulletin) on www.pokerbrb.com/forum for people with an interest in bankroll challenges, poker and other fun stuff. If you think a mix of bankroll building and fun is a waste of time – then you have come to the wrong place. This forum is not only bankroll management – it's a place to have fun – where everybody is welcome. But nobody is forced to take a look!

So what is in it for you?

• SEO – Linkback / Dofollow forum.
• Self Promotion of your blog
• Equal minded community
• Feedback on your on poker and your blog in general.
• Own poker affiliation link at our forum.

You are welcome to post your own poker affiliation in the forum if you are interested. You can always just start by posting a back to your blog. This should at least give you some traffic.

Enjoy your summer
